Sam started kiting when he was 9 years old and has been a key contributor to the rapid growth of kiteboarding in North America.
In 2004 Sam burst onto the competitive scene winning the junior division at the 2004 Velocity Games. Since then he has become a 3-time Canadian National Champion and as of May 2009, a Best Kiteboarding international team rider.
After spending the 2009 winter training in Brazil, Sam thrust himself onto the professional kiteboarding scene after winning a wild card entry to the Real Triple-S Invitational, a competition featuring the top professional kiteboarders from across the World.
